Miss you all!

Hello everyone in blogland.  I just wanted to drop a quick note to apologize for my lack of contact with you all.  My life has just gotten so out of control, I had no choice to drop a few of my activities.  My Mom's Alzheimer's and some of her other medical issues have taken the forefront in my life.  I will be back eventually but I need to focus on her and my own medical issues right now.  I try to grab a few seconds to check out all of your work when I can and as usual you all are just crafting queens!!!  Your projects make me happy and I know you will all still be here when I come back!  Hope everyone is happy and healthy..  Miss you all.

HI Kelly! Hope life is getting a bit easier for you. There's not a day that I don't blog that I don't think of you and your Mom.

The Copics class isn't until Nov. I'm trying to get off of work for the 2nd day, so fingers crossed! My local craft store had a 20% off labor day sale, so that's when I stocked up on copics! I think they came out to about 10 cents cheaper per marker than what I would pay if I were to buy them online with shipping. It was still just shy of $6 each, though! I supplement with Sharpies and Bic Mark Its and they surprisingly blend pretty well with the Copics.

Anywho, thanks for stopping by and I hope you come back soon!

I am so sorry about your Mom.
Institutions use anti-psychotics to pacify patients making them into compliant zombies.

I had read countless warnings against giving them to people with Alzheimers.

It is considered VERY bad medical practice.

Anti-psychotics CAN induce psychosis in "normal" people (ie those without psychosis).

The drs pass them out like candy.

They are just about THE scariest drugs you'll encounter.

I am not sure which state you live in but in mine a patient can refuse ANY medication. Only a judge can rule otherwise. The Court might then monitor the case.

I am guessing you are her legal guardian.

I'd talk to a lawyer at least one time just to see where you stand.

If your Mom acts up a bit, I'd insist tranquilizers be used as a safer alternative. They can be addictive but all she would need would be a three day detoxification program. They'd put her on phenobarbital or something for a few days.

Tranquilizers are more pleasant for the patient.

A friend's sister has been institutionalized just about her entire life. They almost killed her with the anti-psychotics. And I do mean literally.

They can also cause a various serious set of side effects called tardive dyskenesia. Motor problems. It is NOT uncommon and it can be irreversible.

I wish you luck. I really feel for you. Not sure if you can contact me. I just joined your blog. :o) But I'd be happy to help you find out info or point you in the right direction.
