Miss you all!

Hello everyone in blogland.  I just wanted to drop a quick note to apologize for my lack of contact with you all.  My life has just gotten so out of control, I had no choice to drop a few of my activities.  My Mom's Alzheimer's and some of her other medical issues have taken the forefront in my life.  I will be back eventually but I need to focus on her and my own medical issues right now.  I try to grab a few seconds to check out all of your work when I can and as usual you all are just crafting queens!!!  Your projects make me happy and I know you will all still be here when I come back!  Hope everyone is happy and healthy..  Miss you all.

Hawaii Paper Party Hello Kitty Blog Hop!

Happy Birthday Cely!

Aloha Hoppers!  Welcome to the Hawaii Paper Party Hello Kitty Blog Hop. I hope everyone enjoys the hop! We are celebrating Cely's Birthday with either Hello Kitty or Birthday themed projects!  What a great way to start the week! You should have arrived here from Shar's Blog. If you have stumbled upon our awesome blog hop please to Cely's blog, you don't want to miss out on all the fun and it began at Hawaii Paper Party Now on to my projects for Cely.  First we have the Birthday Card that I have made for her. (Of course it will be getting to her a little late because I still have it in NY)

I used the Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut Cartridge's card function.

For a special surprise for our birthday girl I have made part of her birthday present. (Which she will also receive late because I still have it. I am always afraid to send my projects out before the post appears for fear I will delete the image!)  OK Cely here is part of your gift coming your way!
This is a stationary box made from 2 pieces of 12 x 12 double sided card stock.
When you open it up, you have a little book for addresses, a pocket for your postage stamps and three compartments for various size cards or tags.
These are the smallest of the cards measuring 3 x 2 1/4
These are the medium cards measuring 3 x 3 1/4
This is the first of the A2 (largest) cards, I love the inside of this one so I added a photo of it.
This is the second of the A2 cards.
This is the third of the A2 cards.
Of course they all have there very own coordinating envelope. With Craft Power tape, they are ready to seal and mail.
And finally if wouldn't be a completed stationary on the go set with out a pen with a coordinating charm!
As a side note I used Zip Dry Glue to hold down the pieces of elastic to hold the pen. The elastic only came in white and I wanted blue so I used my Copic B000 and colored it to match.

Papers used-Martha Stewart Paper Pack, various Bazzill cardstock, Stamps from My Pink Stamper, Fiskars and Hero Arts.  I will have an uploaded video on making the stationary box some time in August so remember to stop by.

OK it's time to head on over to Amber's at My 3 E Scrapbooking and see what fabulous Hello Kitty or Birthday themed project she has made.  Enjoy the hop and have a great week!

Don't forget to wish Cely a very Happy Birthday!

Gift Box Tower (with gifts)

Hi everybody!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  We had excellent weather here in upstate NY. (Finally) My project this weekend was a gift for a friends birthday.  I decided not only to make part of the gift but to make the gift boxes as well.

This is the Key Chain and Earrings that I made

Here are the boxes
And here is the finished set tied up with an Iridescent Ribbon

I used patterned glitter card stock on all of the lids, and a corresponding small patterned or plain card stock for the bottom of each box.  The lids are all made 1 inch smaller than the bottoms, this was so you could see both the top and bottom of the box to give more color and texture to the project. The card stock was from  DCWV 8 x 8 Citrus paper pack .
The small box  is 2 x 2 x2 and embellished with Plumeria Dew Drops and a Sun/Moon charm held on by a silver brad.
The medium box is 3 x 3 x2 and embellished with MS punch anywhere Butterfly with a Sunflower Dew Drop for the head, edged with spiced marmalade Tim Holtz Distress Ink and glitter added to the wings. Attached with Zip Dry glue.
The large box is 4 x 4 x2 and embellished with 2 Fiskars 2" Daisy punches, held on by a medium flock covered white brad. The flower edges were edged with TH Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade and a Studio G $1 ink pad (lime/metallic green). I used Zip Dry glue in between the daisies to keep them lined up.
The Tower is held together with 5/8 inch iridescent ribbon.

I am entering this project at The Outlawz in the July Paper a la Mode Challenge for the week of July 30th.
Have a great week everyone.

What a great deal!!

I thought I would share this deal with you all.  You get Cindy Loo and Jubilee for free when you buy any other Cricut or Cricut Imagine Cartridge for $34.95 or more.  I purchased Wild Cards (I was watching some videos on My Pink Stamper) today and she was using that cartridge. I never realized how cute and versatile it was. My total with shipping was $54.95 that is just ridiculous for three full content cartridges.  Even if you already have one of the free cartridges you could use it for a gift or Blog Candy.  So everybody hurry on over to Cricut Machine's website.  Click on the advertisement at the top and it gives you all the directions.

If you click on my title for this post it will bring you to the site!

Martha Stewart Stamp Around the Page Product Review

I received my MS Stamp Around the Page kit yesterday!  I was so excited to try it out, it worked so well I had to do a video.  I just love this product and can't wait for Martha to release more templates. I left a review on HSN and went back to check others today.  Well to my surprise two people had left a one star review.  I couldn't believe it.  If anyone has purchased this item and is having difficulties please leave a comment and I would be happy to help you out.   It really is an awesome product.  Enjoy the video.

Craft Storage Tip and Tricks

I finally got the video edited and uploaded for you all. Woo Hoo!  I am currently working on a few cards to post later this week.  I hope you enjoy the tips.  If you want to watch the video with the annotations, which give the place and price of some of the items, please click on the YouTube icon on the lower right of the video screen.

Since filming the video I have purchased another spice rack and am using for all of my eyelets, it is set up the same way as the brads, by color and then specialty categories.  I also have filled in my garage sale purchase with my stamp pads, it worked great, as you can see below, it even holds the large Big and Juicy ink pads.  I think I may end up painting it after all, but white not pink, because the walls in my new paper crafting salon will be pink.  Talk to you all soon.  Have a great rest of the week.

Yes I am a Miami Dolphins Fan!

Hello everyone,
Let me start by saying so sorry I haven't been on for awhile, taking care of my Mom and having some back issues has really gotten me down :( , but I must continue on so.... About a week ago Robyn at My Pink Stamper listed a Design Team call on her blog.  I really wanted to try to get on her team because she is seriously one talented lady, but better than that she seems like a really nice and genuine person (very rare these days). The challenge was to use Orange, Turquoise, Brown, Green and other optional color or your choice on a cricut project using your favorite cartridge.  At first I thought what the heck can I make with those colors!  Then I was cleaning the living room (Dusting, I hate dusting!) and it just popped into my head!  I was dusting my autographed Dan Marino Miami Dolphin helmet.  Well that takes care of all the colors with the optional color gray for the dolphin.  It's not my best work, I made it after having 2 hours of sleep in 48 hours, so I actually think it turned out not to bad!  So here it is (sorry the picture is crooked)

Recipe;
A-9 card base Orange cardstock
Layer embossed with Sizzix flourish embossing folder, light brown cardstock
Dolphin cut from "Life is a Beach" cricut cart at 3inches, dark gray cardstock
Pond and Grass cut from "Create-a-Critter" cricut cart at 2inches and 1.25inches, aqua, turquoise and light green cardstock
Palm Tree cut from "Life is a Beach" cricut cart at 3.5inches, dark brown and bright green cardstock
Football cut from "Everyday Paper Dolls" cricut at 1inch, dark brown cardstock
4inches of Orange and Turquoise ribbon
6 - 2mm Aqua half pearls
1 Orange flower brad
2 Aqua pearl flower embellsihments
2 chocolate brown brads painted with Cinnamon Stickles
My Pink Stamper "Even More Punny-licious" stamp set used "That's FIN-TASTIC!

I am still working on getting my new editing software to work with my camcorder, ARG!!!!  I will post a video on storage solutions soon, I will have to use the old software for the time being. (Sorry)  Have a great day!

Paper punch storage problems? Here is a cheap fix, and it turned out AWESOME!

I found that I haven't been using my paper punch as much as I would like, because I HATE digging out  the two totes they were stored in.  I would have to lug them out and then pretty much empty the totes out on the floor.  So I just stopped using them.  I looked on YouTube for some videos on punch storage and found a few different ideas.  The one I liked the most used peg board and kitchen towel rods.  I wasn't fond of the kitchen towel rods so I thought about it awhile and came up with Cafe curtain rods.  So here are a few pics of the project my Husband and I made this weekend.

Here it is just finished still on the living room floor.

Here it is empty on the wall.
(currently in my sewing/craft room, my paper crafts will have their own Hot Pink room in the late fall)

Here it is fully loaded!  There is a lot of weight on this rack and it is completely stable!

If any one wants the nitty gritty details, just let me know and I will email them to you.

That is one of my stuffed pink pigs, actually he is a puppet that squeals like a real pig. So cute, but he needs a name any ideas?

Boston RedSox 6 Nugget Slider Box with attached Card Part 3

Hello all!  I hope you are enjoying your 4th of July weekend.  I have been busy making a really cool Paper Punch Storage/Display with my Hubby.  (He is really bored, broke a rib and out of work for a month at least) (No I didn't break his rib.)  But I did have time to edit the third video tutorial in the Nugget Slider box series. Now before I let you see it...  I have to say I am so excited to be at over 40 followers! Woo Hoo!  So on Monday I will be posting pictures of my blog candy.  I will be giving away after I reach 50 followers!  OK you have been patient so here is the video.

Boston RedSox 6 Nugget Slider Box with attached Card Part 2

Ok, I lied! I can't attach the second video to the first post in edit posts.  Blogger just won't load the video, so.... I will have to do each video on a different post.  Here it is part 2!  Make sure you leave me some comments, cause I love them!

I will add part three either tonight tomorrow.  It's taking longer than I thought, my husband was injured and has a broken rib, so I have taken over the yard work for the next 4 to 6 weeks.  It's all good as long as he heals well.

I'm still here!

OK everybody I am still here, just insanely busy.  I have a four part tutorial on the Hershey Nugget slider boxes that I am currently trying to edit an upload to youtube and the blog.  Please forgive me for poor sound quality.  I think my Ihome for my Ipod was causing static.  But as I don't have the time or patience to refilm they are going up as is.  They should be up in a few hours.

Hershey Nuggets Slider Box

Hi everybody!  Well my life is still nuts, but I do have a project to post.  Woo Hoo!  I just got some video editing software that I am trying to learn how to use.  I didn't realize I would need to return to college to figure it out!  So the video on making one of these will be in the future, hopefully the near future.  But for now here are a few pics. New goodies arrived today!

Well still no project to post, almost done, but still working on a few hours sleep a night.  I did receive a package from Carpe Diem Store today, 6 more Copic Sketch markers to add to the collection and 25 Prisma colored pencils.  They have great prices $.78 for the pencils and the Sketch were $3.87 on sale. That is the best price I have found yet.  Well maybe by Thursday I will have a project or two to share.  Don't give up on me girls!  I am planning on doing a give away when I reach 50 followers, but I won't post a picture of the goodies until I reach 25!  I want to thank all the ladies who made such sweet and supportive comments because of my problems with my Mom and her Alzheimer's.

Sometimes life gets in the way of crafting!

Sorry I don't have a new project to post yet.  Sometimes life gets in the way of crafting.  I take care of my elderly Mom with severe Alzheimer's disease.  She hasn't been sleeping at night only during the day, and because I am at work during the day, I haven't been able to change her schedule. Well to make a long story shorter, I asked her Dr to prescribe a sleeping pill for her, he felt a second anti depressant with a side effect of drowsiness would be better.  Well...  It made the dementia about 100 times worse over the past several days!  I think I got a total of 7 hours sleep in three days!  Needless to say, I have stopped that particular drug and am getting up every few hours at night to check on her and letting her sleep during the day until I can get her Dr to prescribe a drug that helps her sleep but doesn't worsen the Alzheimer's.  So hopefully I will have a small project or two sometime during the week.

Basic Card Assembly Video

Here is my second YouTube video.  I tried a little basic editing and added music.  It is a basic card assembly video mostly for beginers to get an idea of attaching and placing certain elements, I added a few tips with the annotations option.  This will probably be pretty boring for most of you, but as I am just learning about making and publishing videos, I prefer filming something easy, later I will try the turorials with me actually in the video not just my hands.

Let me know what you think!  Have a great evening!

Abigail Apple Card

Hello all!  I am using my Abigail Apple card in the Copic challenge at The Outlawz Challenge site for the week of 6/2/11 to 6/09/11. The challenge is pink and green, my two favorite colors to use together.  It took me a few tries to get the coloring right.  This is my very first card colored with Copics.  It is completely different than using Prisma colored pencils with the odorless mineral spirits.  I think it turned out pretty good.  The image is a rubber stamp set I purchased from Stamping Bella's by Kraftin Kimmie Stamps.  This is a really nice quality stamp set. I tried to keep this one pretty simple.  So here it is, please leave a comment good or bad, or any tips on coloring with Copics that you might have for me.

Here is a picture of the card with the envelope I made for it.  Funny thing is I didn't even look for a piece of paper for the envelope until the card was finished, and this one matched perfect!

I am trying to teach myself how to edit video as well.  I hope to add a video of putting the card together and the making of the envelope.  Keep your fingers crossed!  Have a great night and I will post again this weekend.

A little Birdy Notebook

Well this isn't the project I wanted to post today, but my envelope mini album video is not coming out as I had planned.  So instead here is a cute little notebook I made with my sister.  We used "3 Birds on Parade" Cricut cartridge, the your story photo, various papers and a little sparkly ribbon.  Hope you like.

Oh, I forgot to mention Stickles, lots and lots of Stickles!  We both love all things glittered!  I have also discovered that with my We are Memory Keepers magnetic mat and ruler with different cutting blades we can perforate the pages of the notebook to rip right out.  Well that is it for tonight, but sometime this week my first video will be posted on my blog and you tube!  Have a great day/night!

Rain Rain GO AWAY!!!!!

I have had no time to craft this week.  Between work, home and the weather I just haven't felt like it.  But I am taking a trip to the Hobby Lobby tomorrow so I am sure that will get me back in the creative mood. (I hope!)  When it gets rainy for days on end I just want to curl up with a really good book, one of the dogs laying on my feet to keep them warm and keep me company and I am set!  But alas there are projects that need to be done.  So I promise that by Saturday afternoon I will post a project.  I only have one faithful follower (thank you Cely), but I have faith, if I keep it up I will get more.  I have spent some time browsing the different crafting blogs and there are some really talented people out there.  Well good night all, and I really hope the sun comes out tomorrow even if for only 10 minutes, I'll take it!

One more entry, just under the wire!

I stayed up extra late so I could get one more submission in for the My Pink Stamper NSD challenges.  I chose to do challenge #4 Mother's Day theme.  (I will have to save this card for next year)
This is an A2 card. I used "3 birds on parade" the infant girl bird at 3 1/2, and the "blurb" from "Plantin School" at 1 1/2. I used the Martha Stewart "grass" punch, and a  sizzix all over flower pattern embossing folder. I choose to use google eyes to give her that wide eyed innocence look. To finish it off I used stickles to outline the bird, and fill in the beak and legs.  I used a piece of lavender iridescent ribbon that I got at Joann's.
Hope you like it.  Now off to bed.

My Pink Stamper NSD Challenges #1 & #3 My submissions

Sometimes life gets in the way, I had planned on doing all of the challenges on Saturday NSD but sometimes the universe has other plans for you.  Needless to say Sunday was Mother's Day and I had other obligations. So here I am at 1:30 in the morning on Monday and I have completed only 2 of the challenges :(, but that is ok because I still had fun so here they are!
Challenge #1 This is a notebook that I made using the Your Story Photo.  I embossed the layer with the Cricut Companion all over cupcake folder for "Once Upon a Princess" the Cupcake was cut at 4.75 inches from "Once upon a Princess" The tag was cut from (ummm) not sure what cartridge, at 1.25 inches. (I already put the handbooks away and did another project before I wrote this, sorry)  I used a cheapy dollar stamp that say "Yummy", some pink polka-dot ribbon at 3/4inch wide, some hot pink crystals for the sprinkles, and stickles to outline the elements. I used the white Gelly Roll pen to give him pupils.  The book has 36 white cardstock pages. I love cupcakes they are sooo cute and this one is calorie free!

Challenge #3 This is an A2 card, I used "Everyday Paper Dolls" Cricut Cartridge, The doll is cut at 3inches, I combined the career dress with the Dr's Jacket, accessories and the Mom's shoes. The words are cut from the "Cricut American Alphabet" embedded cartridge in the E2 using font 1. I dotted the "i" with a pink crystal and I used some hot pink iridescent ribbon for the Breast Cancer Awarness ribbon, it is fastened on with a light pink flower brad from my stash. I used the hot pink Gelly Roll pen to put dots on the dress and a breast cancer ribbon on her jacket, a Prismacolor pencil to highlight her cheeks and stickles to bling out her shoes.

Hopefully next year I will be able to do more challenges. Have a great week everybody.

Here is my Cricut E2! I love him!

Ok, I finally got my E2 out of the box.  I hate it when life gets in the way of crafting!  So here he is, I shall call him Cricky!

It's too late to make a project so I am just bonding with him for now,  but this weekend I will be watching Robyn on MY PINK STAMPER for her national scrapbook day!  Lots of fun can't wait.  Have a great night.

Cricut E2 is in the house!!!

I came home at lunch today, and the UPS man delivered my Cricut E2!  Yay Me!  Too bad I have to go back to work, take my aerobics class, cook dinner and a bunch of other stuff!  I want to play, but it looks like I'll have to wait until Friday after work.  I already have plans on Saturday to join in the fun at MY PINK STAMPER's website for National Scrapbook Day!  Maybe my new toy will win me one of the giveaways or challenges.  Well back to work.  I will post pics of the E2 later tonight.

Time to get organized!

I have spent the last two nights creating an inventory book.  I have been purchasing duplicates of some things while I am out shopping and it is driving me crazy.  I purchased a really cute little hard cover notebook at Target right before Easter with a big bee on the front and now I am sectioning it of into categories.  Mostly I buy doubles of stamps and Prisma Color colored pencils.  I have just started collecting the Copic markers and they are way to expensive to have doubles, so this is my solution.  I will post a picture of the book when it is complete.  I asked my hubby tonight if he thought we could make a desktop storage unit for my Copic Sketch markers this weekend,  he said "It shouldn't be too hard"  I hope he is right, I am crafty but when it comes to building things out of wood, I am out of my element.  But I need something I already have 20 markers and just ordered 50 more!  I will post the picture only if it turns out good,  well maybe I will post it anyway just for a chuckle if it is bad.  LOL! Have a great day everybody!  And a Happy Birthday to my brother Tom!

Happy May Day!

Happy May Day everyone!  I am having a great day, because I got my first follower today!!!  So excited!  Well I can only hope I get more followers now.  I will be trying to post at least one or two projects a week.  I hope you all (my lone follower at this time) are having as beautiful a day as we are here.  I am going to go outside with the pups and get some fresh air before the rains come back in later tonight.  Have a great rest of the Sunday.

My Cricut E2 contest submission

Well here is my submission to the Cricut E2 contest for the launch on 4/26/2011.  Well I didn't win one, oh woe is me.  However I did win one in a different contest, yeah me!  I loved making this layout.  So much fun to make such cute little guys.  I named it "Sweet Party" as a kind of pun on the words.  The sweets were the party goers instead of the food.  Let me know what you think!  Have a lovely rest of the weekend!
